POMPEII, Catastrophe under Mount Vesuvius

Exhibition design. We designed the identity for the exhibition “POMPEII, Catastrophe under Mount Vesuvius” for Mediapro Exhibitions, the company commissioned to design, produce and manage the exhibition held at the Arte Canal Exhibition Center in Madrid.
The exhibition features over 600 pieces rescued from the excavation site work in Pompeii and Herculaneum allowing the visitor to experience life in these cities prior to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD covering the cities under seven meters of volcanic ash through the archeological remains.
The exhibition identity alludes to the destruction of the Roman city under a river of lava from the volcano by way of columns and other archeological artifacts from Pompeii on background graphics using violent shades of red on black.
We designed and developed all exterior advertising and signage applications, interior graphics and signage for the exhibition, the website, catalogue and all printed and promotional materials.
Produced by MEDIAPRO and organized by the Canal de Isabel II Gestión, “Pompeii, Catastrophe under Mount Vesuvius” is open to the public from December 6 until May at the Arte Canal Exhibition Centre in Madrid.

Paul Berger's Blancanieves triumph in the 28th Goya Awards nominations.

The film awarded and critically acclaimed  as it passes through the major nationals and internationals film festivals where has been presented, is distinguished from the other titles presented this year getting 18 nominations for this february 17th  Goya Awards ceremony.
All  Blancanieves' nominations obtained will present this feature film as a new record in the  Goya 's history Awards receiving a nomination for each category. Just couldn't qualify for the total number of 19 nominations  for obvious reasons, is a silent film so is out of the "Best Sound" category.
Blancanieves will be remembered in the Goya Awards history as one of the films more nominated alongside "La niña de tus ojos" (1998) by Fernando Trueba and "Días contados" (1994) by Imanol Uribe wich has received  19 nominations including the best sound nomination.
Once again from Imasblue we are very proud to be part of this new triumph and we would like to send  a new wave of congratulations to the team who has participated in the project.

NOVA Rebranding

The project stems from the design of the logo and a play on the graphics and conceptual idea behind the letter “a” in “NOVA”. The letter “a” is the quintessential termination of most everything feminine in Spanish and throughout the staging it transforms into the leitmotif: the “a” takes on the role of a box containing a wealth of elements: it’s fun, unexpected and daring.

The new logo is based on a straightforward typographic composition of round shapes, highlighting the letter “a” in the brand’s principal color: fuchsia.
Starting with the morphing of the letter, we designed a graphic system of elements, revolving in a spinning motion around a vertex. This circular movement gives meaning to the all the channel’s on-air pieces, combining typographies and color palette, with a concept of a floral unfurling or of a fan.
The idents are where we can really appreciate the embodiment of the concept of “box” (caja in Spanish) in the letter “a”: an animation of varying particles (petals, stars, etc.) which emerge from within generating shapes (a heart, a star), in reference to the channel’s personality and style.

IMASBLUE involved in the first spot directed by Jaume Balagueró

The Barcelona offices of IMASBLUE have undertaken the image postproduction work for the latest spot for Voll-Damm Doble Malta, which has been directed by the cinema filmmaker Jaume Balagueró. This represents the debut in the world of advertising of the director of “REC” and “Sleep Tight”

His cinematic feel, the pulsing rhythm and the aesthetics of a real super-production strongly reinforce the brand’s character - giving more meaning than ever to the product’s forthright “Double or Nothing”

The campaign has been created by Villarrosàs with production responsibility in the hands of Ovideo, who continue to entrust their productions to filmmakers of proven quality. Balagueró adds his name to a long list of directors including the likes of Fernando León de Aranoa and Fernando Trueba who have had excellent results in the field.

Jordi San Agustín of the IMASBLUE team has supervised and coordinated using our studio’s Flame the production of the numerous visual effects (VFX), with the help of Sito López using Smoke.

The presence of professionals of the highest quality throughout the process, from the conception of the idea through the filming to the postproduction, has resulted in the creation of a significant piece of work.

The spot, shot entirely in Barcelona, can already be seen on TV.

The Moon Boat

We produced the book trailer for the story “El Barco de Luna” (The Moon Boat) for the Red Button agency. This story was the winning entry in the short story competition organized by Ecoembes through its blog “Amarillo Verde y Azul” (Yellow, Green and Blue being the color-coded waste management disposal containers used in Barcelona). The story tells the tale of a girl, named Luna, who lives on the outskirts of Managua and works every day in the immense Chureca rubbish dump with her family. Her dreams and imagination are to transport her to a better world.

The competition, “Los profes cuentan” (The teachers tell) came to its successful completion on April 26th last at the ceremony held in the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. During the event, the jury, presided over by Ana María Matute, presented the award to the author of the winning entry, Leticia Rodríguez Gancedo followed by a screening of the animation piece produced by Zeligstudio for the event.

The book trailer will subsequently be used in Internet to promote the book on social networking sites and all money raised will be donated to the charity Aldeas Infantiles SOS.

IMASBLUE’s centres in Madrid and Barcelona, connected in real time

IMASBLUE has once and for all eliminated the problem of physical space from the process of integrated audio and visual postproduction. We have integrated into our working methods the latest system of inter-centre communication, which combines the transmission of images in JPEG 2000 format and videoconferencing, thus eliminating the physical distance that separates Madrid and Barcelona.

Now, anything that is being done by the team in one centre is immediately accessible to the other. There is absolutely no delay, even in the reproduction of visual effects or films of the highest production quality, thanks to the real-time connection of the two studios by means of optical fibre cable and the great benefits which JPEG 2000 offers. The system also allows SD or HD signal to be used depending on requirements.

It means that any postproduction process can be supervised as it is being done. By connecting the studios by means of videoconferencing, IMASBLUE has made working from a distance just as effective as actually being there.

With this new service, you have available to you the whole range of services of our centres in the easiest possible way. You can participate live in the postproduction process of your project without needing to be physically in the same city as our technicians and team. Having direct contact with the technicians by means of one screen and being able to immediately see the results of their work on another allows you to monitor their work and see the results of any adjustments you may request instantly. Just like being there.

Un lugar donde vivir. Program Identity for Castilla La Mancha Television

Zeligstudio recently designed and produced the identity for "Un Lugar Donde Vivir" by the audiovisual producer, El Torreón del Sol, to be broadcast on regional television of Castilla La Mancha. This is a 60-minute program structured into proximity reports, whose protagonists are  inhabitants of towns with populations under 100 located in this autonomous community in Spain.
The identity intends to reproduce the peaceful life of these towns through the recreation of a series of typical scenes depicting miniature-sized characters and elements.
These scenes were shot with macro photography techniques to further enhance the air of unreality and magic of the piece in general.
